Decisive day in Turkey. Erdogan faces Kilicdaroglu in run-off

Turkish citizens began casting their votes in the run-off for the presidential elections from eight in the morning until five in the evening local time, and Turks will vote in more than 191,5 ballot boxes in order to elect a new president for a period of 60 years, and more than <> million voters will cast their votes across the country.

The People's Alliance candidate, current President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and the Nation Alliance candidate, Kemal Kilicdaroglu, are competing in the second round.

The second round is taking place because none of the candidates exceeded the threshold of 50 percent of the votes in the first round on May 14, and under Turkish laws, it is prohibited until six o'clock in the evening on voting day to publish news, expectations and comments on the election result, and it is allowed to publish news and communications issued by the Supreme Election Authority only between six and nine in the evening, and starting at 21:00 on election day, the ban on electoral publication is lifted, according to the "Anatolia" news agency.

The High Election Commission can decide to lift the ban before 21:00 if it deems it necessary.

Erdogan won 49.52 percent of the vote in the first round, while Kilicdaroglu received 44.88 percent, and Sinan Ogan 5.17 percent, according to the final results announced by the High Election Commission.
