The Directorate of Health in Aleppo began today giving the first dose of Maven Clad (Cladrain) to patients with multiple sclerosis free of charge, at Zahi Azraq Hospital in Ain al-Tal neighborhood.

Aleppo Health Director Dr. Ziad Hajj Taha confirmed in a statement to SANA that the Ministry of Health will continue to provide the best and latest medicines for patients, especially in the field of chronic diseases, in addition to providing the best medical services always and free of charge.

Dr. Basil Suleiman, Director of the Hospital and Chairman of the Multiple Sclerosis Committee, explained that this drug is considered one of the most important and modern treatments for patients with multiple sclerosis, as it is highly effective to control the disease, in addition to its ease of administration, as it is given orally for only several days in two consecutive years, and is considered safe and has few side effects.

Dr. Suleiman indicated that the multiple sclerosis clinic continues to provide other treatments, after the doctors' committee studies the condition of each patient and determines the best treatment for his condition, pointing out that treatment continues to be provided in all disease clinics in full, in addition to other hospital services.

Suleiman noted the Ministry of Health's efforts to provide medicine and provide it free of charge to patients with chronic diseases, in addition to other medical services.
