The head of the Russian Kalashnikov company Alan Lushnikov announced the entry of Chukavin snipers into service in the Russian Armed Forces.

The Novosti news agency quoted Lushnikov as saying today that the Chukavin snipers of the new generation were designed and manufactured in the Kalashnikov company, and are intended to hit isolated targets with a first shot at a distance of one kilometer, and use two shots at the same time and weigh without ammunition 4.6 kg, and a length of 115 centimeters, and the capacity of the store is 10 rounds.

Loshnikov pointed out that the new snipers, like any new weapon, need to be modified in their design after starting their serial industrial production.

Lushnikov predicted that the Chukavin rifle in the Russian army would gradually replace the Soviet-made Dragunov sniper rifle, which entered service in the Soviet army in 1963.
