The Iranian Minister of Justice, Dr. Amin Hossein Rahimi, discussed with the Syrian Ambassador in Tehran, Dr. Shafiq Diop, ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in the judicial, human rights and legal fields, mechanisms for implementing judicial agreements previously concluded between the two countries, and concluding new memorandums of understanding that serve both sides.

During the meeting, the Iranian Minister of Justice stressed the importance of strategic relations between the two countries and the need to develop them, especially in the judicial field, in addition to implementing the agreements signed between the two sides, adding: "As we were together in the fight against terrorism and achieving victories, we will be together in the reconstruction process and promote trade and investment exchange to serve the interests of both sides."

For his part, Ambassador Diop pointed out that there are multiple areas of joint cooperation in the judicial and human rights fields, including the fight against organized crime.

Diop pointed to the importance of the visit of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi to Syria and his meetings with President Bashar al-Assad, and the positive results that resulted from them that serve the two friendly countries and peoples, especially in light of the regional political transformations taking place in the region and the world.

Diop said that Syrian-Iranian relations are well-established, and they serve the two countries and security and stability in the region, and must be preserved and strengthened in all fields, explaining that bilateral cooperation between the two countries with friendly countries and the axis of resistance led to the defeat of terrorism and the failure of projects targeting the identity of the region, its heritage, resources and resources.

The meeting was attended by the Iranian Assistant Minister of Justice for International Affairs and Human Rights, Dr. Askar Jalalian, Dr. Massoud Alizadeh, Director General of the International Cooperation Office at the Iranian Ministry of Justice, and Dr. Mohammad Tawfiq Abu Galon, Minister Plenipotentiary at the Syrian Embassy in Tehran.
