Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu revealed that Western countries have supplied Ukraine with weapons worth more than $65 billion.

Shoigu was quoted by RT as saying today at a meeting of the CSTO Defense Council in Minsk: "The West is forcing the Kiev regime, regardless of the losses, to show tactical successes and prepare to fight to the last Ukrainian."

Shoigu added: "More than 2500,<> foreign mercenaries are involved in hostilities against Russia and use terrorist confrontation methods, including sabotage and murder, all of which lead to an escalation and prolongation of the conflict."

Speaking about the military-political situation in the CSTO collective security zones, Shoigu noted the destructive activities of the United States and its allies in creating hotbeds of tension near the borders of CSTO member states, and said: "I largely agree with the assessments of the military-political situation in the CSTO collective security zones that were made today and where the situation remains very unstable, and requires our close attention and constant monitoring."

Shoigu pointed out that the destructive activities of the United States and its allies are to create hotbeds of tension near the borders of the member states of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, which have a negative impact in provoking crises and conflicts, supporting terrorist and extremist structures, and applying all kinds of sanctions, threats and blackmail.

Shoigu also announced that the decision by Russia and Belarus on retaliatory measures in the military-nuclear sphere came in the context of a very sharp escalation of threats on the western borders of the two countries.

Shoigu said yesterday that Russian forces will respond strongly and strictly to any Ukrainian sabotage operations, against the backdrop of the attack on the Russian province of Belgorod.
