Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed concludes official visit to Malaysia

His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, today concluded a four-day official visit to Malaysia.

And there was a farewell to his Highness. His Majesty Sultan Abdullah Raiyuddin Mustafa Billah Shah, King of Malaysia, and His Highness Prince Hasanal Ibrahim Alam Shah, Regent of the Malaysian state of Pahang.

During the visit, His Highness met with His Majesty Sultan Abdullah Raiyuddin Mustafa Billah Shah in Kuala Lumpur, where they exchanged cordial talks that reflect the depth of friendship and cooperation between the two friendly countries and peoples. His Majesty awarded His Highness the Order of the highest class in recognition of his role in consolidating the friendly relations between the UAE and Malaysia.

Sheikh Abdullah and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim also discussed the friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries and ways to enhance and develop them to serve common interests.

The meeting with the Malaysian Prime Minister witnessed the adoption of the launch of two academic chairs for scientific research in institutions of higher education in Kuala Lumpur, the first in the name of Sheikh Zayed at the Institute of Strategic and International Studies in Malaysia with the aim of promoting academic studies and research in the West and Southeast Asian regions, and the second on behalf of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak at the Malaysian National Defense University to support efforts to empower women and girls in the field of peace and security and support peacekeeping missions at the United Nations.

During the visit, a joint declaration of intent was signed on the launch of talks to reach a comprehensive economic partnership agreement between the UAE and the Kingdom of Malaysia, in addition to discussing ways to enhance cooperation in the field of energy, especially clean energy, and climate action.

During the visit, His Highness was accompanied by a delegation that included Suhail bin Mohammed Faraj Faris Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, Mohammed Ali Al Shorafa, Chairman of the Department of Municipalities and Transport, and Ahmed Jassim Al Zaabi, Chairman of the Department of Economic Development.
