Public relations at the Quds headquarters of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) ground forces announced the elimination of a terrorist cell that was planning to carry out terrorist and sabotage acts in the southeast of the country.

The public relations said in a statement carried by the Iranian Tasnim news agency today: "This cell was pursued and eliminated before carrying out any terrorist act it was planning in the south of Sistan and Baluchestan province," noting that two members of the cell were killed, and another was arrested in the operation.

The statement pointed out that quantities of weapons, ammunition, explosives and communication devices were seized in the possession of the cell members.

The Iranian Ministry of Security announced yesterday the dismantling of a spy network linked to foreign intelligence services and the arrest of its members.
