The Cinema Forum at Al-Baath University, held by the Student Union branch in cooperation with the General Organization for Cinema, continued its screenings for the second day in a row.

Two films were presented on the grand amphitheater of the College of Arts and Humanities, the first "Happening in Your Absence" directed by Saif Al-Din Al-Subaie, and the second "Back to the Wall" directed by Aws Mohammed.

The two films deal with the suffering of Syrians in the terrorist war that Syria has gone through, which is loaded with pain and sorrow, in addition to its repercussions and repercussions on the Syrian people.

Ali Hammadi, head of the Student Union branch at the university, stressed that the forum constituted an important cultural and artistic case in its spaciousness, as it shed light on many Syrian films produced by the Cinema Foundation.

For his part, director Aws Mohammed stressed that cinema is a reflection and trial of reality, as it addresses the audience and chronicles an event or situation to remain in memory, pointing to the importance of this youth forum, which confirms that the audience of Homs is distinct, tasteful and thirsty to see fine art.

He added: "The large presence of university students confirms that Syrian youth are young people who love cinema, culture and art."

Young people also had opinions about these performances, as student Orwa Moussalli said: "It is necessary to find this cinematic space at the university through which we can get out of the atmosphere of study to the atmosphere of art and culture.

Student Zainab Saud also expressed her happiness with the cinema forum, which allowed her to watch films and learn about the films produced by the Film Foundation with thought and knowledge.

For her part, student Nisreen Bitar said: I hope to present film screenings throughout the academic year, and that the vision of these films is not limited to the forum only, as we young people need to possess the values of beauty, taste and art in addition to our scientific studies.
