A 31-year-old Lorientais was sentenced Monday, by the criminal court of the city, to eighteen months in prison and six months suspended for taking part in drug trafficking and trying to escape the gendarmes. On June 23, 2022, the thirty-year-old, who was driving at high speed between Vannes and Lorient, had refused to stop despite the orders of the gendarmerie and had embarked on a chase up to 250 km / h. At the height of Languidic (Morbihan), he had thrown through the window of his vehicle a package containing 300 g of cannabis and some 17,500 euros in notes, says Le Télégramme.

The gendarmes had spotted the scene and then hid the following hours, hoping to see suspects return. Indeed back, the fleeing driver had been arrested the same evening. At the hearing, he claimed to have driven the powerful sedan to help an acquaintance sell it. And would have thrown money out the window from sports betting. The court was not convinced by his explanations.
