Budapest - SANA

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has ruled out Ukraine's victory in the war and questioned the feasibility of European sanctions against Moscow.

Orbán was quoted by the Italian news agency Aki as saying: "Given the numbers, the surroundings and the fact that NATO is not ready to send troops, it is clear that there is no victory for the Ukrainians on the battlefield."

He added that the sanctions decided by the European Union against Russia do not work, calling for "an agreement on the future of European security with the Kremlin."

Hungarian Defense Minister Christoph Salai Bobrovniki warned yesterday that most European countries are risking their security by reducing their strategic stockpiles by continuing to arm Ukraine.

It is noteworthy that in March 2022, the Hungarian parliament issued a decree banning the supply of weapons to Ukraine through the territory of Hungary, which constantly opposes the shipment of weapons to Ukraine, and imposing sanctions on Russian energy resources as well.
