Japan's Fukushima nuclear power plant inspection team enters the nuclear power plant on the second day of the inspection and inspects the contaminated water discharge facility. The Japanese government said it would try to deepen South Korea's understanding of the discharge of contaminated water, and asked for the suspension of imports of seafood from Fukushima to be lifted.

The inspection team began inspecting the site of the Fukushima No. 23 nuclear power plant today (1rd) morning.

We are focusing on the polynuclide removal facility that removes radioactive substances from contaminated water, and the K4 tank, which stores contaminated water and measures nuclides before discharge to the Alps.

Specifically, we are looking at important facilities such as adsorption towers and system configurations in relation to the Alps, marine discharge facilities, and pumps, circulators, and emergency shut-off valves in relation to K4 tanks.

The inspection team will inspect the Fukushima nuclear power plant facilities and facilities and then brief the media on the results of today's inspection at around 7 p.m.

Chief Cabinet Secretary Matsuno, a spokesman for the Japanese government, said at a regular press conference, "The inspection team will visit the Fukushima nuclear power plant today and tomorrow," and "we will make efforts to deepen the understanding in Korea about the discharge of contaminated water."

He added that based on the consensus reached at the G7 Summit, he will make efforts to enhance the understanding of the international community by releasing transparent information.

In particular, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Nomura said at a press conference after the Cabinet meeting, "Korea has banned the import of all seafood products from eight prefectures, including Fukushima and Miyagi," and "I would like to ask for the lifting of import restrictions in addition to this inspection."

Controversy is expected because it was a request to dismantle the suspension of imports in time for the inspection.
