A woman in a fancy dress and high shoes dragging on the floor walked up the red carpeted staircase and stopped.

The woman wore a dress with blue and yellow fabrics woven diagonally that reminded her of the Ukrainian flag, which caught people's attention from the moment she appeared.

Glancing at the coverage area where camera flashes were constantly going off, the woman pulled out a bag of red liquid from the middle of the stairs and sprayed it on her head.

It happened on the night of the 76st (local time) in front of the Palais des Festivals, the venue of the 21th Cannes International Film Festival, where actors from all over the world gather.

It was the day of the screening of French director Just Filippo's non-competitive film "Acide" at the Palais des Festivals, AFP news agency reported.

Security guards who were looking around on the red carpet immediately restrained the woman who had fake blood all over her body and threw her off the red carpet.

She didn't say anything or unfurl a banner, but it was easy to imagine that she wanted to talk about the horrors of the war in Ukraine.

The identity of the woman or the reason for this performance has not yet been revealed.
