Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Louay Al-Munajjid called today for the need for cooperation to enhance the elements of economic and social stability, and to achieve the dignified and safe return of Syrian citizens to their homeland.

Al-Munajjid said during his speech at the 49th Arab Labor Conference held in Cairo: "The conference discusses ways to promote the advancement of social work at the national and Arab levels, as a better strategic option to strengthen the economies of society, and work to advance against crises and contain their repercussions."

Al-Munajjid referred to what Syria has been subjected to as a result of the war, unilateral economic coercive measures and the arbitrary practices of the Israeli occupation entity in the occupied Golan.

He explained that "the resumption of cooperation programs between the Arab Labor Organization and the Syrian Arab Republic constitutes a positive start towards activating the paths of joint cooperation, in light of the economic and political challenges facing Syrian workers in a number of host countries."

Al-Munajjid renewed the call for the right framework between the Arab Labor Organization and Syria to intensify efforts, especially to support the return of Syrians to their homeland, explaining that "any efforts or programs provided by the organization will not achieve their desired impact unless they are within a programmatic framework and integrated with the work of the government and the organization in Syria."

Jamal al-Qadri, head of the Syrian Workers Union, said: "We call for raising the voice loudly in every platform to reject the blockade policies pursued by the United States and its allies against all countries that do not abide by their policies, and which have no basis in international law."

Al-Qadri stressed the importance of the Arab position to reject these policies, which harm the Syrian people and prevent them from the most basic requirements of life, and from the process of economic recovery.

Al-Qadri stressed the need to rise to the challenges and discuss ways to develop joint Arab action to keep pace with progress in development and growth, to eradicate unemployment and poverty, and to rely on our national and national capabilities.

The forty-ninth session of the Arab Labour Conference kicked off in Cairo yesterday, amid a wide welcome for the participation of the Syrian delegation and the resumption of Syria's participation in the meetings of the League of Arab States.
