The speaker of the Russian State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin said that the Council will consider tomorrow the issue of taking action against Poland, including the transit of trucks through the territory of Russia.

Volodin was quoted by the Novosti news agency as saying today: "Poland will bear in this case losses that may amount to about 8.5 billion euros," adding: "It would be right to prevent Poland from benefiting from Russia today, and the passage of Polish trucks through Russian territory must be stopped so that they reload goods onto Russian trucks for the benefit of Russian companies."

Volodin stressed that Poland exists as a country only thanks to Russia, but Poland is nonetheless falsifying and rejecting history, desecrating and bulldozing the graves of Soviet soldiers and closing Russian schools.

Volodin noted that in the post-World War II period, the Soviet people in particular spent more than $750 billion "according to today's estimates" on rebuilding and developing Poland, during which more than 800 industrial, energy and transportation facilities were built.
