The reality of the work of the poultry sector establishments, the problems and difficulties facing their work, the technical and productive condition of them, and proposals to develop their work, the focus of a meeting of the General Organization for Poultry held today under the chairmanship of the Minister of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform, Eng. Mohamed Hassan Qatana, at the ministry building.

The meeting discussed the reasons for the discrepancy in production indicators, breeding costs and quantities of fodder consumed between establishments, and reviewed the difficulties facing the branches of the institution in the governorates, which were represented by the lack of electricity and technical personnel, the wear and tear of some equipment and service vehicles, and the need of some Hungarians for rehabilitation.

Minister Qatana stressed the need to identify the needs and requirements of the work of each facility and describe the problems, with the aim of developing them and reaching good production rates and the importance of cooperation and continuous communication between facilities, discussing problems and solution proposals according to the specificity of each facility, benefiting from the successful experiences of some facilities and addressing the defect in some of them.

Qatana stressed the need to follow modern poultry farming technologies, which makes it a development and educational model that breeders can emulate and benefit from previous mistakes and invest all possible energies.

The Director General of the General Organization for Poultry, Dr. Sami Abu Dan, indicated that the Corporation worked during the first quarter of this year on two main axes, "increasing production and reducing waste", pointing out that the production of some herds reached more than 100 percent, explaining that the production of table eggs amounted to about 34 million eggs by 103 percent and the production of 42 thousand broilers with a total weight of 99 tons with an implementation rate of 105 percent, in addition to marketing 239 tons of coordinated chicken, in addition to It produced 562,12 broiler hatching eggs, 12,<> broiler chicks and <>,<> egg chicks.

Abu Dan pointed out that the value of the main and secondary products marketed by the institution amounted to about 24 billion and 883 million Syrian pounds, pointing out that as a result of government support and loans granted to the institution and the improvement in the prices of eggs and "blue", and others, the institution achieved profits of about 2 billion and 300 million Syrian pounds.
