The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai has revealed that it intends to expand its recently launched innovative service for child travelers coming to Dubai, pointing to a children's passport platform that enables them to stamp their passports themselves.

Emirates Today monitored the atmosphere of joy and joy among children of different nationalities during their experience of the innovative service at Dubai Airport, which is the first of its kind in the world.

Airport staff said they were surprised that many children coming into the country knew in advance of the service and wanted to pass through their own gate.

During Eid Al-Fitr, the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs launched the new passport stands in the arrivals hall (Terminal 3 at Dubai International Airport), which targets children aged (4-12 years) to give them the opportunity to stamp their passports themselves, while specialized supervisors and experts in the field of dealing with children from passport officers were assigned to facilitate children's information, support and answer their inquiries.

The Director General of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai, Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, said that the Directorate intends to expand the innovative service to include all arrival halls at Dubai airports, stressing that it comes as part of the strategy of «Dubai Residency» and its endeavors aimed at the happiness of customers and travelers through Dubai Airports, and within the plans to improve and develop services, in line with the strategies of the General Directorate and its annual plans, through which it sets a number of axes and targets, including a number of works, initiatives and voluntary and community activities, within the scope of Social responsibility undertaken by «Dubai Residency». He continued: «The Department aims from this platform to provide a distinct and unique experience for children to stamp their passports, build trust between Dubai and travelers coming from countries of the world, and enhance belonging to the city of surprise Dubai, in addition to that the platform will provide the publication of introductory content about the landmarks of Dubai, Dubai Airport and Emirates Airlines, especially for children».

He said that the department is keen to include children within its annual plans included in its general strategy, within the framework of its social responsibilities and its pivotal role in the field of children's education, and to give them confidence in themselves and give them the opportunity to live the experience of simulating the work of the passport officer, by providing them with the opportunity to stamp their passports.

He stressed that the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai is studying its initiatives and plans extensively, to determine their importance and ability to achieve their goals, especially those related to children, because the goal of initiatives and activities revolves around empowering children, increasing their knowledge balance, developing their talents and empowering their abilities, explaining that Dubai Residency has selected qualified and expert officers in the field of dealing with children, to ensure that the initiative achieves its goals and the success of the project, which is one of the first platforms dedicated to stamping passports for children in the world.

For his part, the Director of the Customer Happiness Department, Lt. Col. Salem bin Ali, said that "the passport terminal at any airport in the world represents the first impression of any traveler, so the new platforms represent an exceptional experience for children, and are rooted in their minds and memories for life."

He explained that the child completes his procedures completely, whether accompanied by his parents or coming to Dubai without accompanying their parents, within the service provided by Emirates Airlines. Children are received by two children's characters "Salem" and "Salama" in the uniforms of the "Dubai Residency" employees in their childish and childish forms that love children, to build friendliness and make happiness with the city of Dubai from the first step, before taking the children to the platform through a special gate to the corridor that leads them through the floor stickers to the passport stamping platform.

The corridor was decorated with space-themed drawings, with an Emirates airline in the middle.

It is noteworthy that the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai is one of the most committed entities to its social responsibilities, which has led it to win many local, regional and international awards.
