Elisabeth Borne is due to unveil on Monday her action plan to accelerate the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions from the France. Everyone will have to "do their part", from individuals to big polluters. Matignon said Saturday that the head of government would chair Monday a working meeting of the National Council for the Ecological Transition, a forum for dialogue bringing together NGOs, unions, employers, parliamentarians...

"The objective (...) will be to take stock of the progress of ecological planning, for which the Prime Minister is in charge".

A form of "fairness"

More specifically, according to a source in Matignon, Elisabeth Borne will present the government's "action plan" to reduce emissions sector by sector (industry, transport, buildings, agriculture, energy, waste).

Carpooling, electrification of vehicles, replacement of oil-fired boilers... The France, which emitted 408 million tonnes of C02 equivalent last year, aims to reach 270 million tonnes in 2030.

The government is looking for a form of "fairness" in its efforts. "The small ones do a little, the big ones do a lot and everyone does their part," the source told Matignon.
