Syrian President Arrives in Saudi Arabia for Arab Summit

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad arrived in Jeddah to participate in the thirty-second session of the meeting of the Council of the League of Arab States at the summit level, which will be held tomorrow (Friday).

Syrian television said Assad "arrived at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah to participate in the work of the thirty-second session of the meeting of the Council of the Arab League" on Friday.

Saudi Ambassador to Jordan Nayef al-Sudairy conveyed the invitation of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to Assad to participate in the summit on May 10.

The Syrian president stressed that the holding of the upcoming Arab summit in Saudi Arabia will strengthen joint Arab action to achieve the aspirations of the Arab peoples.

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Lebanese caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati arrived in Jeddah.
