Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khosnulin announced today the creation of an international trade consortium, with the participation of seven countries, to develop the "North-South" transport corridor linking the Russian port of St. Petersburg and the Gulf region.

"We are working on the establishment of a consortium trade consortium, and progress is underway in the process of registering the legal structure, and the project is important for logistics companies and countries where everyone will invest their money," Sputnik quoted Khosnulin as saying during the Russia-Russia and Islamic World International Economic Forum Kazan Forum, pointing out that "the financial mechanism has been calculated for that."

Khosnulin added: "Seven parties are participating in the coalition, and the issues of transport and road approval have been discussed."

The Kazan Forum will be held on May 18-19 in the capital of Tatarstan and is a platform for strengthening trade, economic, scientific, technical, social and cultural relations between Russia and the OIC countries.

In another context, Khosnulin noted that a final decision has been made to build a workspace dedicated to new technologies such as ICT, green technology and cultural fields "Technopark" at the site of the Azovstal complex in the city of Mariupol, Donetsk People's Republic.

"The plan to build the technopark will be ready after clearing the area of mines, bombs and remnants of fighting," he said.

The Russian Defense Ministry announced in May last year full control of all Azovstal facilities in the city of Mariupol, where militants of the Ukrainian extremist Azov battalion were holed up.
