Russian President Vladimir Putin stressed that his country firmly retains its position as one of the leading players in the world market for weapons and military equipment.

"Despite the pressure of unprecedented sanctions and unfair competition from the United States and a number of Western countries, Russia exports significant quantities of military products, pays constant attention to modernizing production facilities, and building research and development capabilities," Putin said in a congratulatory telegram sent to workers in the field of military-technical cooperation between Russia and foreign countries, according to Russia Today.

Putin noted that the state management system for military-technical cooperation with foreign countries has become an important tool of Russian foreign policy.
