Hasakah-SANA

Terrorist organizations continue their encroachments on the electrical network that feeds the Alouk water station in the northern countryside of Hasakah, causing it to stop working after it was operational in the middle of last month, which portends health risks for about one million citizens, especially with the arrival of summer.

The Director General of the Water Corporation, Eng. Mahmoud Al-Okla, said in a statement to the SANA correspondent that the suffering of the interruption of water produced by the Alouk station has been continuing almost continuously for a year for several reasons, the most important of which is preventing the entry of the workshops of the Public Authority for Water to operate the station and carry out the necessary maintenance for it, in addition to the continued infringements and thefts carried out by terrorists on the electric current feeding it and the theft of water produced to water agricultural crops spread in the area where terrorist organizations are spread in the northern countryside of Hasakah.

Al-Okla called for the need for maintenance workshops to enter the station to operate it and carry out the necessary maintenance, pointing out that the Foundation, in cooperation with a number of organizations working in the humanitarian field, continues to secure the needs of the people of drinking water by filling the tanks scattered in the streets, in addition to operating desalination plants located between the population centers within the neighborhoods of the city center of Hasakah.

It is noteworthy that the Alouk water station is located in the city of Ras al-Ain, where terrorist organizations have been deployed since 2019 and since then, the city of Hasakah and the western countryside have been suffering from a severe shortage of drinking water.
