This evening, fire brigades extinguished a large fire that broke out within a building that houses the Directorate of Water Resources in the city of Sweida, and its damage was limited to material.

The commander of the Sweida Fire Brigade, Fadi Al-Daoud, told the SANA correspondent that as soon as the fire was reported, the fire trucks went to the place and began dealing with the burning fire inside the Water Resources Directorate on the third floor of the building, where it was controlled and extinguished before it expanded further, with the support and assistance of the Civil Defense Directorate, the Electricity Company, the Syrian Arab Red Crescent branch, the ambulance, the city's police department and the traffic branch.

Al-Daoud pointed out that the fire, the causes of which were not identified, caused material damage to a number of offices of the directorate, in addition to limited damage to a residential apartment on the upper floor due to the high heat and the density of rising smoke.
