Syrian Foreign Minister meets ministers of a number of Arab countries on the sidelines of Jeddah meetings

Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad met on Wednesday with a number of Arab foreign ministers on the sidelines of the preparatory meetings for the Arab summit in Jeddah, while Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan welcomed the participation of the Syrian delegation in the Arab ministerial meeting.

Mekdad met today with his Lebanese counterparts Abdullah Bou Habib, Tunisian Nabil Ammar, Omani Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Jordanian Ayman Safadi, Emirati Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Khalifa Shaheen Al Marar, on the sidelines of the summit's preparatory meetings.

The meeting of foreign ministers of Arab countries kicked off on Wednesday in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

On Tuesday, the preparatory meetings for the Arab Summit began at its thirty-second regular session, at the level of ministers and delegates, to discuss the most important issues that leaders will raise at their meeting, scheduled for Friday, May 19 in the Saudi capital, Riyadh.

Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad arrived yesterday in Saudi Arabia to participate in meetings that Syria has been absent since 2011.
