In addition, House Majority Leader Park Kwang-on of the Democratic Party of Korea criticized President Yoon Suk-yeol's exercise of his right to reconsider the nursing law enactment today (17th), saying, "The veto is another word for self-righteousness, arbitrariness, and self-righteousness."

Speaking at an enlarged caucus meeting at the National Assembly, Leader Park said, "They threatened the legislative power of the National Assembly with the politics of executive decrees, and now they are jeopardizing the separation of powers with the politics of veto."

"President Yoon's veto is only serving to amplify social tensions," he said, adding, "The MDP will revote the National Assembly on the nursing law. As this is an issue directly related to the people's right to health, we will pursue it in accordance with the National Assembly Act in accordance with the democratic process."

Leader Pak also said, "We will concentrate our party efforts so that the spirit of 5 May can be enshrined in the preamble of the Constitution," adding, "To this end, I think it is time to push for a one-point constitutional amendment."

"As long as President Yoon Suk-yeol presents his will and timeline, the ruling party will join forces," he said, stressing that it is "the easiest way for President Yoon to show his sincerity."

He also pointed out that "the presence of all members of the National Assembly of the People's Power in the May 18 event would be the surest way to show sincerity by enshrined the spirit of May 5 in the preamble of the Constitution through a one-point constitutional amendment, rather than the power that it can show."

Leader Park urged, "If I may add a word, I would also like you to show the rigor of taking decisive action against the anti-historical and anti-democratic rhetoric that still distorts, denigrates, and undermines the May 18 [pro-democracy movement]."

This remark is interpreted as being aimed at Kim Chae-won, a member of the Supreme Council of the People's Power Party, who sparked controversy by saying that he opposes President Yoon's presidential election promise of "recording the Constitution in the spirit of 5 May."
