A donor paid 15,177 dirhams to treat the patient (Abu Nasser - Yemeni - 66 years old), who has been suffering from diabetes for 18 years, which caused him many health problems, including high pressure and cholesterol, in addition to also suffering from health problems in the eyes for a while, and complications of diabetes and pressure increased, and he needed to take medicines to control his health on a daily basis, and he needed special medicines at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City Hospital.

The "hotline" coordinated between the donor and the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai, to transfer the donation amount to the patient's account at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City Hospital in Abu Dhabi, to continue receiving his treatment.

The patient's son expressed his deep thanks to the donor for her quick response and generous stand with them, in light of the difficult circumstances that his father is going through, stressing that «this generosity is not strange to the people of the UAE who love to do good and giving».

On May 12, Emirates Today published the story of the patient (Abu Nasser), who suffers from several complications of diabetes, including high blood pressure and cholesterol, in addition to suffering from health problems in vision. The impact of these problems on his life has increased, as he is unable to control his health.

The patient needs special medicines for his treatment, costing 15,177 dirhams, for one year, but his family's modest financial means do not allow them to manage this amount.

The patient's son had previously told Emirates Today the story of his father's suffering with the disease, saying that his father's health condition has deteriorated a lot since he suffered from diabetes about 18 years ago, "where he began to feel tired and unwell when performing any effort, and he was always thirsty, and then lost a large percentage of his weight."

The son added: «When my father's health condition worsened, I took him to Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City Hospital, and after examining him from the doctor on duty, and conducting a number of tests and laboratory tests, it was found that he has type I diabetes, and the doctor advised him to follow a diet to prevent high sugar».

The son continued: «We noticed an improvement in my father's health with his commitment to take his medications regularly, but, during the recent period, he began to feel a permanent headache, so I took him to the hospital, and his doctor asked us to conduct tests and laboratory tests, the result of which showed that he has high blood pressure, cholesterol and deficiency of some vitamins».

He added: «Diabetes led to my father suffering from many complications, such as high pressure, and the occurrence of health problems in the eyes, and the doctor confirmed that he needs follow-up and treatment, as well as taking his medications regularly».

The patient's son added that the value of medicines for pressure, high cholesterol, medicines and injections for diabetes, amounting to 15,177 dirhams, for a year, stressing his inability to provide any part of this amount.

He said: «I am the sole breadwinner for my family, and I work in a private company in Abu Dhabi with a salary of 5000,<> dirhams, while my family consists of four members».
