The Darfur Bar Association said in a statement that the death toll on Friday and Saturday in El Geneina, the capital of West Darfur state, exceeded 100 people, including the imam of the old mosque in the city.

The parties to the conflict agreed on Thursday on a declaration of principles to protect civilians and secure humanitarian access, but fighting has not abated despite talks on monitoring and implementation mechanisms.
