These are unusual and distressing messages that were broadcast on a train in Austria on Sunday. Adolf Hitler's voice echoed through the loudspeakers of a train from Bregenz to Vienna, says The Guardian. The phrase "Heil Hitler" has also been uttered several times, according to the British daily. The Austrian company ÖBB filed a complaint against two people found by the authorities by analyzing the videos of the train's cameras. They are not employees of the company. An investigation has been opened.

National outrage

"The loudspeakers were manipulated," company spokesman Bernhard Rieder told AFP on Monday after the incident sparked outrage in the dictator's native country. According to ÖBB, the two suspects managed to access the train's audible announcement system with a key and no computer attack was found.

Austria, annexed to Germany's Third Reich in 1938, has some of the strictest laws in the world against Holocaust denial and neo-Nazi activities. The dissemination of Nazi propaganda is a criminal offence.
