Kremlin: British arms shipments to Ukraine will cause more destruction

The Kremlin warned on Monday that new British arms shipments to Ukraine, announced by London ahead of a meeting between Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, would cause "further destruction".

Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters that "Britain aspires to put itself at the forefront of countries that continue to flood Ukraine with weapons." Such handovers "will not have a significant impact on the course of the conflict, but they will cause further destruction," he said.

Peskov continued: "We look at this negatively."

The United Kingdom announced on Monday that it would soon deliver hundreds of anti-aircraft missiles and attack drones to Ukraine, ahead of a meeting in London between Sunak and Zelenskiy.
