Ukraine. The Russian Ministry of Defense has not made any statement, but it has been suggested that the Russians may have mistakenly shot the aircraft, not knowing that it was their own military aircraft.

A Mi-4 helicopter belonging to the
Russian military explodes in mid-air.

Video of the helicopter crashing and smoke billowing from the sink was captured from a nearby building.

On the 8th local time, four military planes crashed in the Bryansk region of Russia, which is adjacent to northeastern Ukraine, including a Sukhoi-13 and a Sukhoi-35 fighter jet, as well as two Mi-34 helicopters, Russia's Tass news agency reported.

This resulted in the deaths of nine crew members.

The reasons for the crash of the fighter and helicopter are not clearly established.

The Ukrainian Air Force has made an official statement that it was not involved in the crash of the Russian military aircraft.

The Russian Defense Ministry has not commented, but an unofficial Russian Telegram channel has raised the possibility of a shootdown due to a mistake.

In this regard, Yevgeny Prigozhin, the head of the Wagner Group, a Russian mercenary company, also pointed to the point where four Russian military planes crashed, saying that Russian air defense systems may have been involved in the crash.

"If you draw a circle around the points where the four planes crashed, you have a radius of 8 kilometers, and those points are exactly in the circle."

It was an indication of possible mistaken firing by the Russian military, which led to a flurry of vitriol calling it the worst day of the Russian Air Force.
