At the invitation of Japan, which is chairing the G7 Summit this year, President Yoon Suk-yeol and his wife will visit Hiroshima, Japan, on the 7th for a three-day, two-night trip.

During this period, President Yoon, US President Biden, and Japanese Prime Minister Kishida will hold their third trilateral meeting after June and November last year, and it is expected that the focus will be on security cooperation to counter North Korea's nuclear and missile threats.

[Kim Tae-hyo, First Deputy Director of the National Security Agency: Based on the stronger bilateral relations between the United States and Japan, strategic cooperation is expected to be discussed to further upgrade the ROK-U.S.-Japan cooperation.]

However, no joint announcement or joint declaration by the three leaders is scheduled.

Prior to the U.S.-ROK-JAPAN summit, President Yoon will join Japanese Prime Minister Kishida to pay a visit to the memorial for the Korean atomic bomb victims at the Hiroshima Peace Park.

Around the G7 Summit, the Chancellors of Canada and Germany, as well as the President of the European Commission, will visit the Republic of Korea and meet with President Yoon.

The specific target and scope of the Fukushima contaminated water inspection team, which the two countries agreed to conduct on a three-night, four-day itinerary, including the 19rd and 2th, are still being coordinated.

Yoo Kook-hee, chairman of the Wonan Committee, said, "We are not just going to listen to the explanation from the Japanese side," and "experts from the Korea Institute of Nuclear Safety Technology will participate in this inspection team."

A high-ranking official of the President's Office also said, "A rough agreement has been reached," and "so far, Japan has been very cooperative."
