In Melbourne, Australia, another radical demonstration by a neo-Nazi group took place.

The National Socialist Network, a far-right group in Australia, held an anti-immigrant rally in front of the state legislature in Melbourne, Victoria, yesterday (13) local time.

They unfurled banners that read "Living for Whites: Stop Immigration" and spoke out against immigration.

About 20 of those who attended the rally wore black clothes and black bandanas, gave a Nazi-style salute and made racist remarks denouncing immigrants.

A demonstration was planned in downtown Melbourne on Tuesday in which human rights groups called for welcoming migrants, banning discrimination against them, and punishing Nazis, but police believed that far-right groups staged counter-demonstrations to disrupt the demonstration.

Police kept the two groups at their distance to avoid clashes, but members of some far-right groups staged violent demonstrations, including throwing glass bottles at human rights group protesters, and clashed with police.

Nazi protests have resurfaced in Melbourne for the first time in about two months since last March.

In March, when a transgender rights group staged a protest, they disrupted the demonstration by shouting hate slogans and giving Nazi-style salutes at the same location.

This has led to growing calls in Australia to ban all kinds of pro-Nazi actions and symbols, including the public Nazi salute.
