After a three-year break, the Night of Museums in Frankfurt and Offenbach attracted numerous people with a varied program. The organisers spoke of around 40,000 visitors who were counted at the more than 40 venues on Saturday evening and Sunday night. They were able to experience exhibitions, guided tours, performances, live music, film projections and workshops. "Unique exhibits, enthusiastic museum visitors and enchanting moments – after a three-year break, Frankfurt's diverse museum landscape presented itself impressively at the Night of the Museums," explained Ina Hartwig (SPD), Head of Frankfurt's Department of Culture.

It was not only the large museums such as the Schirn Kunsthalle or the German Film Institute & Film Museum that were particularly popular. There was also a great rush for special experiences, such as in the otherwise closed Fishermen's Vault, where visitors could make their way under the Old Bridge with a flashlight, or at the Deutsche Börse Photography Foundation, which is normally only open for limited guided tours.

There, 20 young artists from 14 nations presented the latest trends in the medium. Architecture and art lovers were also able to visit the European Central Bank (ECB) for the first time as part of the Night of the Museums, which also opened the doors to its art collection.
