Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's call for a bold attack, including the seizure of Russian border towns and the blowing up of oil pipelines, has been revealed in a recently leaked confidential U.S. government document.

The Washington Post, a US daily, reported that among the confidential US government documents leaked from the chat platform 'Discord', there were documents that eavesdropped on internal meetings of the Ukrainian government.

According to a document labeled "top secret," Zelenskyy proposed striking inside Russia during a meeting in January this year while Ukrainian ground forces occupied unspecified border cities in Russia.

Another document showed President Zelensky expressing concern at a meeting attended by the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in February that Ukraine does not have long-range missiles capable of hitting troops in Russia.

President Zelenskyy has proposed an alternative to using drones to strike Russia's western Rostov region, and in mid-February he called for blowing up the Druzhba oil pipeline.

The Washington Post noted that such a drastic attack on the Russian mainland was secretly plotted, contrary to the public image of a calm and patient leader who refrained from attacking the Russian mainland for fear of escalation.

The Pentagon did not discuss the sincerity of President Zelensky's call for a drastic attack on Russia, according to The Washington Post.

Ukraine's strike on the Russian mainland with long-range missiles is a highly sensitive issue for the U.S. government, as it could catastrophize relations between the U.S. and Russia, the two nuclear superpowers.
