Ketterer Kunst relocates its representation in the Rhineland from Düsseldorf to Cologne. This weekend, the representative office of the Munich auction house opens at Gertrudenstraße 24-28 in Cologne, a well-known address for art lovers, because until the end of last year the Galerie Michael Werner stayed there with one of its locations. In addition to auction previews, occasional exhibitions will also take place in the high, approximately 260 square meter rooms of the listed building. According to Robert Ketterer, the reason for the move was personnel matters and the desire to be represented in the city of origin of the contemporary art trade in Germany. As a reaction to Sotheby's appearance in Cologne, however, Ketterer does not want to see the change of location classified. The international house has recently intensified the competitive pressure on German art auctioneers with face-to-face auctions in Cologne.
