Due to the nationwide warning strike by the railway and transport union, hardly any trains are expected to run in Hesse on Monday and Tuesday. Which trains and lines will be affected, a railway spokeswoman in Frankfurt could not say on Friday. "In principle, we won't know until the strike starts."

However, it is to be feared that the strike could have an impact as early as 18 p.m. on Sunday. This is the case, for example, with S-Bahn traffic in the Rhine-Main region. According to the Rhein-Main-Verkehrsverbund, most regional and S-Bahn lines will be cancelled in its area. One of the exceptions is the Regionalbahn 12 between Königstein and Liederbach. The rail replacement service on the route of the Taunus Railway is also to run as scheduled.

No journeys between cities

In addition, some trains of the Regionalbahn 15 between Grävenwiesbach and Wehrheim run for school transport. The railway and transport union has called on workers to go on a third warning strike in the current round of collective bargaining. The walkout is scheduled to last from 22 p.m. on Sunday to 24 p.m. on Tuesday. The railway decided to completely stop long-distance traffic during this time.

DB Regio will also hardly run a train. Buses, trams and subways in the cities are not on strike and are therefore expected to run as scheduled. However, because the regional and S-Bahn trains are cancelled, it will not be possible to get to Frankfurt, Darmstadt or Mainz by public transport.
