The Emirates Red Crescent distributed food parcels and clothes to more than 500 cleaners in the Syrian province of Latakia, as part of Operation Gallant Knight 2 launched by the Joint Operations Command at the Ministry of Defense.
This came within the framework of the "We Did Not Forget You" humanitarian initiative, which was implemented in cooperation with the Latakia Governorate Council and the Syrian local authorities in appreciation of the efforts made by the cleaning workers, and within the framework of the UAE's continuous humanitarian and relief efforts to alleviate the suffering of the affected families after the February 6 earthquake and to stand by the Syrian brothers in their current circumstances.
Mohammed Khamis Al Kaabi, head of the Emirates Red Crescent delegation in Syria, explained that the cleaners have had the largest role since the earthquake in Syria in supporting and supporting the concerned authorities in order to remove the remnants and rubble of the earthquake from the affected areas, so they were targeted and provided with support.
For his part, Dr. Bilal Al-Sayed, Assistant Director of the Directorate of Hygiene in the Syrian Governorate of Latakia, praised the efforts of the Emirates Red Crescent teams in coordination with the Syrian Arab Red Crescent and the humanitarian initiatives of the United Arab Emirates in general, which are supervised by Operation Gallant Knight 2 in order to alleviate the suffering of Syrian families of all different categories.
The UAE continues its efforts to support our brothers in Syria during the recovery and rehabilitation phase by providing foodstuffs, medical supplies and medicines on an ongoing basis and identifying the needs of different sectors, within several axes aimed at psychological and social support to alleviate their suffering.
