It is a strong gesture that decided to make this mayor of Cénac, in Gironde. This Thursday, Catherine Veyssy published an open letter to Emmanuel Macron after the decision of the mayor of Saint-Brévin to resign after the violent threats to which he was subjected. "I am deeply upset by the resignation of Yannick Morez, mayor of Saint-Brevin-les-Pins. I don't know him personally, but I agree with his words and his distress," she said.

In her text posted on her Facebook account, Catherine Veyssy points to "ever greater responsibilities that expose us personally on the legal and judicial level" and believes that she and her colleagues are the "left behind of the Republic".

A gesture "out of solidarity"

And to add: "the resignation of a Mayor who expresses his difficulties in exercising his mandate is a failure of the Republic. It must not be trivialized. The unease runs deep. The mental load is heavy. The mayor of this village of some 1,800 inhabitants in the heart of the Gironde also took the opportunity to send her tricolor scarf to Emmanuel Macron "out of solidarity".
