Trade exchange between the UAE and France grew by 2022.16% in 8 to reach AED 29.44 billion ($ 8 billion), compared to AED 25.2 billion in 2021 ($ 6.8 billion), according to data from the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Center.

Foreign trade between the two countries last year was distributed between 25.2 billion dirhams worth of imports and about 4.2 billion dirhams worth of exports and re-exports.

The report on the volume of trade between the UAE and France showed that foreign trade grew during the past three years by 49%, rising from AED 19.7 billion in 2020 to AED 29.4 billion at the end of last year. The report included data on trade exchange between the two countries during the period from 2013 to 2022, indicating that trade exchange between the two sides grew in 2014 to 27.4 billion dirhams, compared to 24.58 billion dirhams in 2013. In 2015, the two sides recorded an exchange rate of AED 26.4 billion, rising in 2016 to AED 27.1 billion, AED 26.8 billion in 2017, approximately AED 28 billion in 2018 and more than AED 27.6 billion in 2019.

According to the report's data, jewellery goods from precious metals topped the list of the top five commodities imported from France during 2022, worth AED 2.96 billion, followed by jet engine goods worth AED 2.58 billion, perfumes worth AED 2.1 billion, medicines worth AED 1.4 billion, and bags worth AED 1.3 billion.

In re-exports, aerial vehicle parts goods topped the list with a value of AED 1.1 billion, followed by jewellery goods of precious metals worth AED 421 million, jet engines worth more than AED 200 million, cars worth AED 146 million, perfumes worth AED 128 million, while canning bottles goods topped the list of UAE exports with a value of AED 88 million.
