Conviction of a young man who hacked a girl's social media accounts

The Abu Dhabi Family Court and Civil and Administrative Cases ordered a young man to pay a girl 2000,<> dirhams as compensation for hacking her social media accounts, changing her password and seizing it.

In the details, a girl filed a lawsuit against a young man, in which she demanded that he oblige him to pay her an amount of 100,12 dirhams as compensation for material, moral and moral damage, with interest of <>%, and oblige him to pay fees and expenses and for attorney's fees, noting that he hacked her email, and her accounts on social networking sites, and changed the secret numbers and obtained them, and he was criminally convicted, while the defendant submitted a memorandum requesting the dismissal of the lawsuit.

For its part, the court stated in the reasons for its judgment that the plaintiff had previously filed a complaint before the competent authorities against the defendant in respect of which he was referred to criminal trial on charges of hacking the websites of the victim (the plaintiff), changing her secret numbers, and obtaining them without her permission, and thus proving to the court the defendant's mistake under a final judgment and became authentic.

Regarding the request for compensation for moral and material damages, the court pointed out that it is established in accordance with the Civil Transactions Law, that every damage to others obliges the perpetrator to guarantee, and that moral damage is everything that affects dignity, feeling or honor, including psychological pain, pointing out that it is established from the criminal judgment that the defendant hacked the plaintiff's websites, changed her secret numbers, and obtained them without her permission.

This has resulted in the deprivation of her electronic accounts, in addition to the sadness and heartbreak that she suffered.

The court ordered the defendant to pay the plaintiff an amount of 2000,<> dirhams, and obligated him to pay the fees and expenses.
