Stoltenberg: everyone agrees on Kiev's accession to NATO, the question is when

"All NATO members agree that Ukraine will become a member of the Alliance. The question is when and on this I cannot give specific dates." This was stated by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg in an interview with the Washington Post. "The urgent task now is to ensure Ukraine's victory as a sovereign and independent state, because if Kiev does not win, there will be nothing to discuss," Stoltenberg added.

China: We oppose unilateral sanctions

China declares its "resolute opposition" to the unilateral sanctions and warns that it will take "necessary measures" to safeguard the rights and interests of its companies in the event that sanctions are imposed by the European Union on Chinese companies for their cooperation with Russia. This was stated by the Chinese Foreign Minister, Qin Gang, in response to a direct question regarding the possibility of EU sanctions on seven Chinese groups suspected of selling equipment that could be used in weapons used by Russia in the war in Ukraine, as reported yesterday by the Financial Times.

"China will not sell arms to parties involved in the Ukrainian crisis and will prudently manage civil-military exports in line with laws and regulations," the Chinese foreign minister said from Berlin. "Normal exchanges and cooperation between Chinese and Russian companies should not be affected," the minister continued, quoted in a note by Chinese diplomacy, in the meeting with the press together with his German counterpart, Annalena Baerbock.

"China strongly opposes long-armed jurisdiction and unilateral sanctions against other countries on the basis of its own laws," Qin added, "and will take the necessary steps to resolutely safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese companies."
