"It's the first time something like this has happened, it's unprecedented," Patrick Zaki said of the judge's absence, speaking in front of the Mansura Palace of Justice, pending the tenth hearing that will then be postponed to July 18.

"I wrote that I want to return to Bologna as soon as possible. I dreamed of being able to prepare my defense in Italy. I want to resume my normal life. I will not stop here, I want to get my PhD in Bologna..." Go on.

These are Zaki's words of hope, determined to return to being "an ordinary citizen, a normal human being who can travel whenever he wants between Egypt, where I have my family, and Italy".
