It has been confirmed that three members of a Korean American family were among the victims of a mass shooting at a shopping mall in the suburbs of Dallas, Texas, United States, on Jan. 6 local time.

According to the Dallas Consulate General in Houston, a Korean couple in their 3s, Cho Mo and Kang Mo, and their 30-year-old child were killed in a mass shooting at Allen Premium Outlets in the Dallas suburb.

The couple's other child, a 3-year-old, was seriously injured and was taken to the hospital that day and is still being treated.

All of these families have been identified as U.S. nationals.

Dallas residents were reportedly out shopping over the weekend and were beheaded.

Local Korean media reported that the couple were both professionals and had a good reputation in the community.

According to local media in the United States, a man opened fire on a man as soon as he got out of his car in the parking lot in front of an outlet last Saturday, killing eight people and injuring at least seven.

The gunman was also shot and killed by police at the scene.

Earlier, a police officer who had been dispatched to the mall with East Sea another report immediately rushed to the scene and engaged the culprit.

Local police identified the shooter as Mauricio Garcia, a 5-year-old man, who so far believe he was the lone perpetrator.

A motive for the crime has not yet been determined, but a senior police source familiar with the investigation confirmed his activities on social media related to far-right extremism, CNN reported.
