The UAE has sent three aid planes to support the brotherly Sudanese people, carrying more than 115 tons of medical and food supplies.

Two planes arrived at Port Sudan Airport carrying 100 tonnes of emergency medical supplies and essential drugs for the treatment of injuries and emergency surgeries, including a wide range of medicines intended for the treatment of wounds caused by injuries and emergencies, medicines such as antibiotics, non-steroidal drugs, anti-inflammatories, wound dressings, surgical tapes and endoscopy kits.

The third plane, which flew to Chad, carried 15 tons of food supplies, which aims to provide urgent support to Sudanese refugees affected by the current conditions in the sisterly Republic of Sudan, which has caused the displacement of thousands of families and shortages of basic foodstuffs.

The Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for International Development Affairs, Sultan Mohammed Al Shamsi, said that the dispatch of these medical and relief supplies comes under the directives of the wise leadership and its continuous keenness to provide support to the Sudanese brothers, noting that the Sudanese crisis has caused a severe shortage of many vital services and the suffering of the population due to the lack of necessary foodstuffs.

He added that the UAE airlift of food and medical aid comes as a continuation of the country's humanitarian approach based on extending a helping hand to countries in times of need, and contributing to mitigating the humanitarian repercussions facing the Sudanese as a result of the current crisis, as the UAE places the most needy groups of patients, children, the elderly and women at the top of its priorities.

The dispatch of the three planes comes within the framework of the UAE's continuous relief efforts to support the Sudanese people, and reflects the depth of its relations with Sudan, especially in light of the current situation it is going through, and this relief is an extension of the UAE's humanitarian vision and a reflection of its relations with other countries based on the bonds of human fraternity and commitment to helping others during crises and emergencies.

Since the beginning of the crisis, the UAE was one of the first countries to send direct aid to Sudan as part of its continuous keenness to provide support to the brothers, providing more than 240 tons of medical and food supplies and assistance, as well as evacuating 744 foreign nationals, diplomats and their families, and dozens of humanitarian cases and transporting them from Sudan to the UAE.
