The Berlin governing coalition, which gave itself the label "progressive coalition" at the start, has so far fallen short of many expectations and promises of individual parties in the field of digitization: "Digitization first, concerns second", as the FDP already put up posters in the 2017 election campaign? To this day, this does not apply to parts of the population, nor to companies or politics.

But where could there actually be progress? And is the new "German Agency for Transfer and Innovation" (DATI), which was agreed in the coalition agreement, one of them? How does this agency, which is intended to support the transfer of knowledge and new technologies from universities to the (medium-sized) economy, work? When will the first pilot projects be launched?

We talk about this with Mario Brandenburg (FDP), Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal Minister of Education and Research, but also about artificial intelligence and the 49-euro ticket. His solution: "We have to play the innovation game in such a way that it suits us." You can find out what he means by that in the F.A.Z. Digitec podcast.
