His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Media Council, offered condolences on the death of the late Martyr of Duty Sergeant Omar Khalifa Salem bin Hammad Al Ketbi, during his visit to the funeral in Al Mizhar area in Dubai. His Highness expressed his sincere condolences and sympathy to the family of the deceased, praying to Allah the Almighty to bestow His mercy and blessings on him, to live in his spacious paradise, and to inspire patience and solace to his family and loved ones.
His Highness said via a tweet on «Twitter»: «May God have mercy on the martyr of duty, Sergeant Omar Khalifa Salem bin Hammad Al-Ketbi. Dubai does not forget its loyal men and appreciates their sacrifices to protect lives and protect the homeland... We pray to God for mercy and forgiveness for Omar and for his family and relatives patience and solace."
For his part, the father of the late martyr of duty, Sergeant Omar Khalifa Salem bin Hammad Al Ketbi, said that despite the difficult separation and his great sadness for the deceased of the homeland, who was martyred while performing his duty to control a fire in Al Aweer area in Dubai, he feels proud and proud of his martyrdom while on the job.
His brother said that the deceased was intrepid from a young age and very bold, so he found himself in a great profession as a firefighter in the General Department of Civil Defense in Dubai, stressing that the sincere feelings that the family found from the leaders of the state, the Emirate of Dubai and the Emirati people, eased the injured person, although the sadness is firmly rooted in the heart.
While the Assistant Director General for Rescue and Fire Affairs, Brigadier Ali Hassan Al-Mutawa, revealed that he accompanied the martyr in several tasks for fire and rescue and was professional, proficient, honest and courageous.
Khalifa Salem bin Hammad Al Ketbi, father of martyr duty Sergeant Omar Al Ketbi, said during a report broadcast by Dubai TV via coverage of «Emirates News», that separation is difficult, and does not insult him except that his son was martyred while carrying out his duty in the service of the country, and this is a great honor.
He added that the support found by the family from the leaders of the state was great, stressing that they did not fall short with the family and were keen to attend the condolences and console the relatives themselves. Al-Ketbi continued: «We cherish Sergeant Omar and consider him a martyr because he was on the job, in the service of his country, performing his duty with honor and honesty».
For his part, Salem Al Ketbi, brother of the deceased, said that what happened to Omar is God's judgment and destiny, and we are satisfied with it, pointing out that the martyr was intrepid from a young age, bold and courageous, so he chose a great profession of a special nature, as a firefighter in the General Directorate of Civil Defense in Dubai, and his colleagues all confirm that he was a brave comrade who always advances in the face of risks and accidents. He added: «Do not believe the separation of Omar so far, as if we are in a dream, but the consolation of the elders and the homeland eased the difficulty of separation», stressing that «sadness is firmly rooted in the heart, but it is God's judgment and destiny». For his part, Assistant Director of the General Directorate of Civil Defense for Rescue and Fire Affairs, Brigadier Ali Hassan Al-Mutawa, said that he accompanied Sergeant Omar Al-Ketbi in several tasks and had great confidence in him, for his professionalism, professionalism and tangible courage, noting that the department lost one of its heroes, but consoled it that he was martyred on the job while responding to the call of duty, condoling the family of the deceased and the people of the UAE on the martyrdom of one of his loyal sons.
