Sergio Perez, better than a number 2

Euphoric after signing the 3rd pole position of his career, the Mexican will be able to challenge his teammate Max Verstappen in the drivers' standings.

In Q3, his Red Bull set the fastest time, 1'26"841. While the red flag was flown after Charles Leclerc's accident, he inherited the first place.

Max Verstappen missed himself

After getting everyone to agree in Q1 and Q2, the Dutchman missed his turns 7 and 8 in Q3 and couldn't do better as the red flag was unfurled before his second attempt. He will start in 9th place on Sunday but this should not cause him too much trouble given the potential of his car this season. Operation remontada for the double world champion.

For his part, Charles Leclerc will start in 7th position after sending his car into the wall on Saturday...

It was Carlos Sainz who took the opportunity to climb to 3rd place, behind Fernando Alonso's Aston Martin. The Ferrari is doing better after the modifications made.

Lewis Hamilton started in 13th place, while Pierre Gasly, 5th, and Ocon, 8th, progressed.
