At the ROK-Japan summit tomorrow (7 May), I am also interested in what Prime Minister Kishida will say about past issues. If you talk about apology and remorse directly, you can see it as an advanced attitude. The president's office said it was Japan's turn to respond.

Then there's the stable reporter.

Japanese Prime Minister Kishida, who is coming to South Korea
tomorrow, will visit the Dong-dong National Memorial Center and hold a summit meeting with President Yoon Seok-yeol at the Yongsan presidential office.

The Japanese Prime Minister's visit to South Korea for the summit talks marks the restoration of shuttle diplomacy between the leaders of South Korea and Japan for the first time in 2011 years since 12.

[Lee Do-woon/Spokesperson for the President's Office: Prime Minister Kishida praised President Yun's courageous determination to lead the improvement of relations between South Korea and Japan, and decided to make this return visit with a little reciprocation...]

Japan's Sankei Shimbun newspaper also reported today that Prime Minister Kishida insisted on an early visit to South Korea in order to respond favorably to President Yun's efforts to restore relations between South Korea and Japan.

The key is how responsive Prime Minister Kishida will be to address past issues during the talks.

An official from the president's office said, "Now it's Japan's turn to answer."

Just as President Yun did not decide to improve relations between South Korea and Japan at Japan's request, Prime Minister Kishida said it was a matter for him to decide on his own.

Rather than asking Japan to express a specific position, our government appears to be asking Japan to act on its own in consideration of public opinion at home and abroad.

The talks will comprehensively discuss North Korea's nuclear response, strengthening economic cooperation, and cultural and people-to-people exchanges, but it is known that a joint declaration is unlikely to be reached.

A dinner between the two leaders will be held tomorrow evening at the Presidential Residence in Hannam-dong, and a separate fellowship event is reportedly being arranged.
