King Charles III of the United Kingdom was coronated a little while ago and officially proclaimed himself monarch of the United Kingdom and the 3 Commonwealth countries. He became crown prince at the age of 14 and finally wore the crown 9 years later.

The coronation ceremony kicked off with a 'procession of kings' as Charles III and his wife traveled to the coronation site.

As the royal couple traveled 6.3km in a 'Diamond Jubilee carriage' through central London, the surroundings were filled with people who wanted to see the procession for themselves.

The coronation of Westminster Abbey began at 2 p.m. local time.

When the Archbishop of Canterbury, the highest priest of the Church of England, introduces the King and asks for his approval, the attendees shout, 'God protect the King.'

Charles III takes his vows as monarch, anoints himself with holy oil, and finally wears the 'Crown of St. Edward' on his head.

Clergy, royalty and nobles will kneel and take the oath of allegiance, and the coronation ceremony will conclude.

The royal couple will then transfer to a 1-year-old golden carriage and return to Buckingham Palace to meet the public.

Today's coronation ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Han Deok-su and representatives from more than 7 countries around the world.

Charles III is said to have tried to capture Britain's diversity in race, gender and religion through his coronation ceremonies.

After more than 3 years as crown prince, he finally wore the crown on his head, but he shouldered a considerable challenge as a monarch, from waste of tax dollars to privilege controversies to the indifference of young people.
