32-year-old Kim Mo has been detained by Taiwanese law enforcement authorities in connection with the death of his girlfriend, who had traveled to Taiwan with his South Korean girlfriend, local media reported.

According to the Free Times and the China Times, the Kaohsiung District Court in southern Taiwan accepted the application for a second arrest warrant from the Kaohsiung District Prosecutor, who presented new evidence, at around 4 p.m. yesterday (8th) and issued an arrest warrant for Mr. Kim.

The Kaohsiung District Prosecutor conducted further investigations against Mr. Kim, who was released on bail, and requested the issuance of an arrest warrant against Mr. Kim from a competent court after attaching relevant materials and the autopsy findings of the forensic officer.

As a result, the court conducted a detention hearing on Mr. Kim and allowed the issuance of a warrant yesterday evening.

According to the results of the local prosecutor's investigation, Mr. Kim revealed in the investigation of the case that he and the deceased Mr. Lee had a good relationship during their four-year relationship and that there had been a minor quarrel over marital issues.

However, when local police investigated Lee's South Korean friends who had been killed, they found that Lee had suffered from Kim's frequent acts of violence and that Lee had taken selfies with bruises on his nose and swollen face and showed them to his friends.

Police also obtained statements that Mr. Lee heard a violent collision in the room before his death, and determined that the scar from the blunt blow to his left occipital region matched the shape of the bottle of liquor seized at the scene.

Earlier, a Korean woman in her 4s who was traveling to Taiwan with her boyfriend was taken to the hospital at a hotel in Kaohsiung around 30:24 pm on the 1th, but died 30 minutes later.

The forensic surgeon mentioned the possibility of death during an autopsy on Jan. 30, affirming that Mr. Lee's left occipital wound was generally a fall and there was no chance of such a wound.

The competent court rejected the prosecutor's application for an arrest warrant in view of Mr. Kim's status as a foreigner, along with an order to strengthen the investigation, as the scene of the incident and the evidence had already been preserved.

The court granted bail for $27,10 and about 435.8 million won of our money, but ordered him to appear at the Jinfen police station before noon every Monday during the eight months of his ban on leaving the country.

Meanwhile, Taiwanese media continue to draw attention to the case in February 2018, when Chan Tung-gai, a Hong Kong citizen who traveled to Taiwan with his girlfriend for Valentine's Day, became enraged with his girlfriend after she revealed that she was pregnant with her ex-boyfriend's child, murdered her at her accommodation, and ran away.

Local media reported that South Korea's lower sentence for common murder is more than five years in prison, while Taiwan's is more than 2 years, and that the two countries do not have an "extradition agreement" and that they will be deported after serving their sentences.
