The Emirati Talent Competitiveness Council held the first official meeting of the "Nafes for Youth" Council, to launch its executive plan and package of events and initiatives, in implementation of the decision of the Board of Directors of Emirati Competitiveness Cadres, chaired by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the UAE, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Presidential Court, to approve the launch of the "Nafes Youth Council".

Sheikh Salem bin Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of Culture and Youth, and Secretary General of the Emirati Talent Competitiveness Council, Ghannam Al Mazrouei, approved the plan and initiatives of the Nafes Youth Council, which are aimed at following up the implementation of strategic initiatives and identifying all possible opportunities, in order to enhance the success of the country's efforts to increase the percentage of Emiratisation in the private sector and develop national competencies.

The meeting included a brief explanation of the work plan and initiatives of the Youth Council during the coming period, in line with the strategy and objectives of the Emirati Cadres Competitiveness Council, and in order to achieve the goals and directions of the government in this regard, through brainstorming sessions, exchange of ideas and commitment to responsibilities and roles by members of the Youth Council, including proposing youth events that will empower young citizens, support their work in the private sector, participate in activities, media coverage and dialogue seminars, and share success stories and achievements. It was achieved and recommendations made by young people on the topics of "Nafes" programs and initiatives, in addition to the community promotion of the "NAFES" award, and related positive initiatives.

Sheikh Salem bin Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of Culture and Youth, congratulated the members of the Nafes Youth Council on their selection for this national mission, pointing to the keenness of the leadership and the government to support Emirati youth to reach the distinguished position they deserve among the world's youth, stressing that Emirati youth are the hope and the future, and that the country trusts in their competence and ability to excel and win the competition, as he presented many honorable models in all fields at the regional and international levels.

He added that the constructive cooperation between the Ministry of Culture and Youth and the Emirati Cadres Competitiveness Council has resulted in this initiative, which will have a great impact on serving graduates and young people looking for qualification and training to obtain job opportunities, and Emirati employees who are still working in the private sector, pointing to the support of the Ministry of Culture and Youth for all the efforts of the Nafes Youth Council, and what it will launch during the coming period of youth events and initiatives, especially that the Council includes a group of distinguished young citizens in the private sector, who They have great experience and outstanding success stories.

The Secretary General of the Emirati Talent Competitiveness Council, Ghannam Al Mazrouei, explained that the "Nafes Youth Council" represents a valuable opportunity for direct interaction and periodic and continuous communication with the youth in the private sector, under the supervision of the Emirati Cadres Competitiveness Council, which contributes to supporting the strategic directions of the "Nafes" program, especially aimed at enhancing the positive societal view of the work of citizens in the private sector, encouraging them to join private work on the one hand, and highlighting the benefit of private companies from employing nationals on the other hand.

Al Mazrouei stressed that the young people selected for membership of the "Nafes Youth Council" will be the best ambassadors for the "Nafes" program, and the embodiment of its initiatives on the ground in front of the community and their Emirati brothers, pointing to the keenness of the Emirati Cadres Competitiveness Council to hold periodic meetings, during the coming period with the "Nafes Youth Council", to confirm the tasks and roles required of members, and to enhance support for the strategic plan of the Nafes Youth Council, and the initiatives and projects targeted to be completed during the year, calling on the members of the Nafes Youth Council to put forward initiatives that return To benefit young Emiratis and enhance their rehabilitation and employment opportunities in the private sector.

He also pointed out the importance of coinciding with the establishment and launch of the Nafes Youth Council initiative, with the approach of the UAE's organization of the Climate Summit and Conference (COP28), to be organized at Expo Dubai in November this year, especially that the conference supports the slogan and idea of "One World", which confirms the importance of the role of youth and the Nafes Youth Council in supporting the objectives of the conference.
